Lita Rossana Ford (also also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punkish fashion. Although the band was not popular on the scene in their home country of the United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Ford's solo heavy metal career had a great success following the group break-up. She took voice lessons and recorded her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene following the albums' failure to get the attention they deserved. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in the year 1989. The lead song "Kiss me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for a couple of years. In 1995 she debuted "Black," and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. in 2016, the latest album, 'Time Capsule, was made available. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
