Lita Rossana Ford (also also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punkish fashion. Although the band was not popular on the scene in their home country of the United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Ford's solo heavy metal career had a great success following the group break-up. She took voice lessons and recorded her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene following the albums' failure to get the attention they deserved. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in the year 1989.
